Overcoming a challenging year, the Alumni Relations Office collaborated with alumni groups to organise a host of virtual activities, fostering on-going connections between alumni and the University.


Keeping positive through sharing

An alumni online sharing session in April 2020, featuring two alumni who are award-winning standup comedians. Mr Vivek Mahbubani (left) and Mr Tim Chan (right), divulged their ideas for staying positive in adversity during the challenging days of the early pandemic, offering a number of fresh and inspiring perspectives. In July 2020, a second session was arranged, with alumna and certified professional organiser Ms Sharon Lam (top right) providing timely tips on becoming a minimalist and the benefits of decluttering.

Marathon Club boosts healthy lifestyle

CityU Marathon Club arranged three Live-Stream Wellness Classes (stretching, core exercises, and yoga) for around 120 participants in May and June 2020, providing an effective platform for participants to keep connected with the CityU community while staying fit. Club Chairman Mr Kason Fok (right) hosted the series, together with alumna trainer Ms Sandy To (left).

Mentors and students enjoy virtual gathering

The Department of Information Systems successfully held its Information Systems Industrial Mentorship Programme Opening Ceremony online on 10 October 2020, with around 40 alumni professionals sharing their expertise in the field with students.
