Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, an accomplished leader in higher education and an outstanding scholar, was installed as the 5th President of CityU on 18 May. Dr Chung Shui-ming, University Pro-Chancellor, presided over the Installation Ceremony and Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman, together with Council members and other University representatives, joined the Ceremony as the platform party. In his address, Professor Boey encouraged faculty members and students to become more learning-centric rather than teaching-centric, stressing the importance of connection and engagement with the community. CityU launched the first-ever HK Tech 300 Southeast Asia Start-up Competition in Kuala Lumpur on 8 May, expanding the highly anticipated innovation and entrepreneurship programme. CityU's Cultural Exchange Oasis, in collaboration with the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, has organised a new exhibition showcasing major events in European history and comic art from a cultural and historical perspective. The exhibition, titled “Europe in a Comic Strip” runs now until 16 June, open to CityU staff, students, alumni, and the public at the Wofoo Foundation Gallery, located in the CityU Run Run Shaw Library. The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) has shared the results of the second CityU EE Annual Awards, which celebrate the distinguished achievements of alumni or individuals in their career and service to the CityU EE community and society. The awardees of this year are alumni Dr Chen Jiashu, Ms Candy Liu, and Mr Marcus Or, as well as CityU Honorary Fellow Mr Johnny Yeung.

Alumnus Mr Howard Cheng has been presented the third CityU School of Creative Media Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognises his outstanding achievements and exceptional contributions to his profession, the University, and the community.

MSocSc Counselling graduate Ms Roberta Lee (李慧敏) is a seasoned marketing specialist in the luxury retail industry with over 20 years of experience.
