Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, an accomplished leader in higher education and an outstanding scholar, was installed as the 5th President of CityU on 18 May. Dr Chung Shui-ming, University Pro-Chancellor, presided over the Installation Ceremony and Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman, together with Council members and other University representatives, joined the Ceremony as the platform party. CityU's Cultural Exchange Oasis, in collaboration with the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, has organised a new exhibition showcasing major events in European history and comic art from a cultural and historical perspective. The exhibition, titled “Europe in a Comic Strip” runs now until 16 June, open to CityU staff, students, alumni, and the public at the Wofoo Foundation Gallery, located in the CityU Run Run Shaw Library. The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) has shared the results of the second CityU EE Annual Awards, which celebrate the distinguished achievements of alumni or individuals in their career and service to the CityU EE community and society. The awardees of this year are alumni Dr Chen Jiashu, Ms Candy Liu, and Mr Marcus Or, as well as CityU Honorary Fellow Mr Johnny Yeung.
