CityU was honoured to host a delegation from Kazakhstan on 17 August. The delegation was warmly greeted and received by CityU Council Chairman Mr Lester Garson Huang, along with members of the senior management team. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by CityU and the Kazakhstan Ministry of Science and Higher Education to foster institutional collaboration and promote academic exchange. Read More>>

Executive Classroom 6207 of the Lau Ming Wai Academic Building was named the "Cissy Wong Ying Executive Classroom" in recognition of EMBA alumna Ms Cissy Wong Ying’s steadfast support to CityU. The naming ceremony on 8 August was attended by over 100 guests. Ms Wong appreciated the quality of her inspirational learning experience at CityU, which led to her success. Learn More>>

President Freddy Boey led a CityU delegation to meet with government officials of Shangdong Province on 2 August. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the CityU-Qingdao Innovation Research Institute in Qingdao’s West Coast New Area and to strengthen cooperation in new materials, new energy, biomedicine, marine science and AI. Following the success of the CityU Organic Farming Programme series organised by the Convocation, alumni are welcome to register for the latest series to be held on ten Sunday mornings starting from 17 September. Alumni are invited to sign up as volunteers for “SRO x Convocation - Terrarium Workshop” organised by the Student Residence Office and the Convocation at 7:00-9:30pm on 7 September (Thu) and 13 September (Wed). This event promises an evening of Mid-Autumn celebration, networking and reconnection within our vibrant alumni community under the Joint U umbrella. Engineering Doctorate alumnus Dr Kelvin Pun (潘寶樑) is Chief Technology Officer at Compass Technology Company Limited. During his studies at CityU, he gained extensive training in independent learning and research, fostering his commitment to diligence and meticulousness. Engineering Doctorate alumnus Ir Professor Yuen Pak-leung (源栢樑) has been elected as Chair of the Seoul Accord and re-elected as Deputy Chair of the International Engineering Technologists Agreement, which symbolises his remarkable leadership in and contributions to the international engineering community.
