The delegation was warmly greeted and received by CityU Council Chairman Mr Lester Garson Huang, along with members of the senior management team. Executive Classroom 6207 of the Lau Ming Wai Academic Building was named the "Cissy Wong Ying Executive Classroom" in recognition of EMBA alumna Ms Cissy Wong Ying’s steadfast support to CityU. President Freddy Boey led a CityU delegation to meet with government officials of Shangdong Province on 2 August. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the CityU-Qingdao Innovation Research Institute in Qingdao’s West Coast New Area and to strengthen cooperation in new materials, new energy, biomedicine, marine science and AI.
