CityU conferred honorary doctorates on four distinguished persons on 6 October in recognition of their significant contributions to education and the well-being of society. The four persons are Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, Professor Michael Graetzel, Professor Chad A. Mirkin and Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs. President Freddy Boey led a CityU delegation to visit Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, from 31 August to 2 September. CityU and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government signed an MoU to jointly establish the CityU Innovation Research Institute to strengthen cooperation in life sciences, new materials and computer science. According to the latest World University Rankings 2024 released by Times Higher Education (THE), CityU is ranked 82nd, up 17 places from the 2023 rankings. Among the various performance indicators, CityU is ranked 1st in the world in “Industry” and 2nd in “International Outlook”. Learn More>>

CityU School of Creative Media (SCM) celebrated its remarkable 25-year journey with an evening of creativity and inspiration at the “SCM 25 Hong Kong Film Series Opening Night” on 22 September. During the event, a series of scholarships was announced, followed by an exclusive movie screening, captivating the hearts of about 200 attendees, including students, faculty, alumni and industry leaders.
