27 faculty members from CityU have been named Highly Cited Researchers for 2023 by Clarivate, placing CityU 44th worldwide, 10th in Asia and 2nd in Hong Kong. By faculty size, CityU’s percentage of the world’s most Highly Cited Researchers puts us 1st in Hong Kong. Read More>>

A high-level delegation led by President Freddy Boey visited three universities in the UK between 10 and 13 December, namely the University of Glasgow, the University of Surrey, and Imperial College London, to foster collaboration between CityU and world-leading universities in various areas. A screening and director-sharing session on the movie Time Still Turns The Pages (《年少日記》) was held on 8 December. SCM alumnus Nick Cheuk Yick-him (卓亦謙), Director of the film, shared with over 100 attending students the challenges and coping strategies for him in making the film, which has earned him the Best New Director award at the 60th Golden Horse Awards. BA Social Work graduate Ms Connie Wong (黃美鳳) is Senior Coordinator cum Regional Director (Islands) of The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council. This year, she was awarded the Chief Executives Commendation for Community Service in recognition of her contributions to society, particularly in promoting youth initiatives among ethnic minority residents and the welfare of the disadvantaged. Read More>>

CityU achieved outstanding results by winning a total of 24 awards at the 3rd Asia Exhibition of Innovations & Inventions Hong Kong, including one Special Prize IFIA Award, two Gold with Congratulations of Jury Awards, and five Gold, 14 Silver and two Bronze medals, the highest number among local universities. The Annual General Meeting of CityU Convocation took place on 12 December, with Mr William Khoo, Chairman of the 8th Standing Committee (SC) delivering a comprehensive report and update on the Convocation’s development. The service period of the newly-elected 9th SC, which consists of 16 enthusiastic alumni, will be two years from 1 January 2024. Learn More>>
