Welcoming new Council and Court appointees

New appointees to the Council and Court of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been announced for a term of three years starting from 1 January 2022.

New members appointed to the Council by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region are Ms Miranda Kwok Pui-fong, Mr Robert Lui Chi-wang and Mr Justin Wong Tak-ho

Ms Miranda Kwok is a member of the senior management and executive director at China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited, with 37 years of banking experience. Ms Kwok has been active in public service. She is Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, Non-Executive Director of the Financial Reporting Council, and a member of the Risk Management Committee in the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, the EFAC Financial Infrastructure and Market Development Sub-Committee, Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation Advisory Board, Air Transport Licensing Authority as well as the Standing Committee on Judicial Salaries and Condition of Services.

Mr Robert Lui is the Government Affairs Leader (Southern Region) and HK Digital Assets Leader of Deloitte China. Mr Lui has been with Deloitte for more than 20 years, assisting China and Hong Kong companies to list in Hong Kong and providing financial and auditing services for listed companies. He actively participates in government and community services, having served CityU in his capacity as Convocation Chairman and Vice-Chair of the Eminence Society. In terms of government service, he has contributed as a member of the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Committee and as a member of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education. He is a Divisional Councillor of CPA Australia in Greater China, and a practising member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr Justin Wong is a General Partner in S28 Capital, a technology venture capital fund focused on investing in Enterprise SaaS and Cloud Infrastructure companies. He is also the Deputy Managing Director of Hing Yip Finance & Investment Co. Ltd.  He has over 15 years of professional experience spanning investment banking and business development in Silicon Valley, Shanghai, New York and Hong Kong. Mr Wong is a Standing Committee member of the Jiangmen Municipal CPPCC, advising local policymakers. Mr Wong has a passion for education and has been active in serving several education institutions in the areas of strategic planning, advancement and alumni engagement. He currently serves as a board member of Duke University Trinity College of Arts & Science Board of Visitors, board member of Duke Alumni Association, and executive board member of Wuyi University. He also chairs the Hong Kong fundraising liaison office of Tsinghua University Law School. Mr Wong holds a BSc degree from Duke University and an MBA degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business. 

In addition, Dr Eugene Chan Kin-keung, SBS, JP, has been re-appointed for another term.
