A Showcase of Everlasting Cantonese Music

The Concert "A Showcase of Everlasting Cantonese Music" by Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble specially invited Cantonese Music maestro TO Wing, CHIU George, and KAN Rico corporate with, and docent by music scholar professor PAK Christopher. The project "Everlasting Cantonese Music" focused on the organizing and reviving of the seven books publications of YAU Hok-chou like The Essentials of Strings and Vocal Music (1916), who is a major figure in Cantonese Music. In the concert, the ensemble will perform pieces according to the classification of the instrumental performance from the publications. It is divided into "strings", "hard-bow", "soft-bow", "Chinese and Western instruments" and "western instruments", Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble reproduced the combination and style of the RPM recordings. We hope and aim to broaden the public's understanding of Cantonese Music and present the treasures of Hong Kong's traditional music culture.
