CityU holds flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), together with Professor Boey Yin Chiang, CityU President, presided over a flag-raising ceremony at Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hall on 1 October to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The Ceremony was attended by over 200 members of the University community, including Mr Charles Chin Ying-on, Treasurer of the Council, and several Council members, namely, Dr Eugene Chan Kin-keung, Mr David Ho Chi-hoo, Dr Raymond Leung Siu-hong, Mr Robert Lui Chi-wang, Ms Rita Pang Yat-sum, Mr William Khoo Wun-fat, Mr Alan Poon Pak-lun and Ms Zeng Heming, together with Court members, management, staff and student representatives, who witnessed the raising of national, regional and University flags to celebrate this important occasion together. CityU students trained as Guards of Honour marched onto the stage and performed a series of choreographed movements with solemnity and precision.
