Career life revisit (日入而息) - by joseph@shininglifeworks

Aim right

Apart from work, developing multiple hobbies could help us build our creativity and interest in things we love, as well as social networks (not the online ones) and feel good about ourselves.

Striking a good balance between work and hobbies is crucial.

Roots

Never forget the roots. CityU is our roots when we were young, or when we need to absorb nutrients of knowledge…

Some leaves wither while others are in their blossom, just they all benefit if the root system is strong…

If we keep helping our alma mater to be strong and cohesive, we will also benefit from the vast canopy.

Work extra hard

If everyone just works by the book, this world will be dull and stagnant.

Take one more step in everything we do and go the extra mile. Cheers~~

Window of opportunity

These two photos were taken when I was in a hurry to a client meeting, and commuters were packed all around me in the compartment at peak hours. I noticed the sky was beautiful outside the train compartment. Then I grabbed my mobile phone and shot them once the train went on a steadier pace.

We could enjoy and grab whatever chance coming to us, if we equipped ourselves well, especially when we are mentally and emotionally prepared. Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

Take your chance

This was taken when I noticed it during a client meeting. I excused myself and took a few minutes to enjoy it. My clients like the way I live my life and they know that’s also why my works are different to others.

Beautiful sunset like this is not common nowadays. However, most people are too busy to appreciate it when they are still sticking their heads to their monitors.

Do pay some attention to enjoy every day, to the beautiful scenery we might miss, before it’s too late.
