Convocation Standing Committee members reminisce campus life with fellow alumni and University friends at CityU Banquet 2011

eNet111-10

The Standing Committee of the Convocation would like to thank fellow alumni for joining the CityU Banquet 2011. The festive occasion exemplified the CityU community’s sense of belonging to the University. It was also an occasion for alumni to renew friendships and make new friends while reminiscing their collective memories of campus life. Convocation Chairman Karmen Chan shared with diners anecdotes of previous CityU banquets on stage. To retrieve those joyful moments, please view the photo gallery HERE.

Since the launch of the Alumni Ambassador Scheme (AAS) in 2003, over 1,400 alumni have joined up and exemplified the “Caring by Serving” spirit by providing voluntary services to their Alma Mater.

In this issue we continue to recognise these dedicated volunteers through our Alumni Ambassadors’ Stories Collection. Tune in to the personal videos of Ambassadors Jason Jiang, Carl Miao and Oliver Lu to learn of their impressive voluntary service experiences.

Three outstanding alumni – Dilys Chau Suet-fung, David Hui Yip-wing and Dr Raymond Leung Siu-hong – have been honoured with the Distinguished Alumni Award, presented at the 2nd biennial award ceremony on 13 October.  The Award is designed to recognise and publicly honour outstanding alumni for their remarkable achievements and contributions to their professions, CityU and the community.  Learn more about the Award recipients and the ceremony HERE.
