Ontario gathering celebrates togetherness

The President of the CityU Ontario Alumni Association, Mr Eric Ho (second right, back row), hosted a well-received get-together to rekindle alumni bonds and celebrate both the winter solstice and Christmas on 18 December 2021. Around 20 alumni and friends attended the event at the Premiere Ballroom & Convention Centre in Toronto.

Beijing chapter chairman builds links with young people

CityU Beijing Alumni Chapter was delighted to join a lively forum for leaders and young people from different cities, organised in Beijing by the Hong Kong and Macau Youth Beijing Club on 10 July 2021. As one of the guest speakers, Mr Li Renxing, Chairman of CityU Beijing Alumni Chapter, shared his memorable experiences at CityU along with career tips with around 230 young people from Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau. In March 2021, the Chapter also arranged members to sing the CityU anthem in support of the University.

CityU anthem rings out in Chengdu

A heartfelt rendition of the CityU anthem rang out in Chengdu when Mr Li Weidong, Chairman of CityU Chengdu Alumni Chapter, and other members gathered to sing the University’s anthem on 14 March 2021. Videos of other alumni chapters were posted on the ARO homepage and alumni platforms, sharing the groups' joy.

Fruitful exchange at Shenzhen forum

CityU Shenzhen Alumni Chapter members, led by alumnus Mr Joe Zhou, Chairman of the Chapter, were delighted to take part in the Forum on Young Alumni Development of Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macau Universities on 22 May 2021. The event, organised by Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, drew a total of 250 young alumni from 15 universities.

Shanghai Chapter echoes CityU anthem

CityU Shanghai Alumni Chapter members, led by its Chairman Mr Li Feng, also recorded their version of the CityU anthem on 6 March 2021. The choral activity was supported by Distinguished Alumnus Dr Andrew Fan, and Honorary Chairman Mr Nie Weiguo.

Shanghai Chapter members also participated in a reunion trip to Weihai ( 威海 ) in Shandong, arranged by the CityU MBA class from 25-28 September 2021. The visit strengthened ties among MBA alumni who graduated from CityU over 20 years ago.

Non-local alumni reunion in Hong Kong

A reunion for non-local alumni living in Hong Kong took place on 21 August 2021, co-hosted by the Global Engagement Office and Alumni Relations Office. The successful event facilitated around 40 non-local alumni from various countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Pakistan and mainland China to meet up and reconnect with CityU.
