Your timely contribution makes a difference

It is encouraging to report that many alumni have already made donations to CityU since the Government launched its latest Matching Grant Scheme on 1 June. Under the scheme running through to 15 March 2011, every dollar donated will be matched equally up to a ‘floor amount’ of HK$45 million, and subsequently on a one-for-two ratio, i.e. $1 Government matching grant for every $2 donation, on a first-come-first-served basis among all tertiary institutions. So your timely support can make a big difference! If you haven’t already done so, please act now to show your support by donating to the Convocation Scholarship for student development. Alumni support means a lot to new students

It’s that time of year when our alma mater arranges a series of orientation activities to usher in new students. As old boys and girls of the University, you can play an important role in helping the freshmen enter this new chapter of their lives. Your insights and wisdom can help them grow and prepare for the challenges ahead in their studies at CityU.

So don’t be shy – please take the opportunity to get involved and share your experiences, as well as offer assistance in upcoming Convocation activities or projects for students. We hope our new CityU recruits will be embraced by the same caring culture as we were once welcomed with open arms into the CityU family. Let’s help them feel right at home!
