Organized by Alumni Relations Office (ARO), the Alumni Ambassadors’ Night held on 17 June further boosted the “Caring by Serving” spirit of these CityU devotees. Some 250 participants, including some who came from Shanghai and Shenzhen, made this special gathering successful. Associate Vice-President (Alumni Relations) Ms Kathy Chan expressed her thanks to the Alumni Ambassadors for devoting so much of their time and expertise to serve their alma mater.

Guest speaker Ms Shelly Lee Lai-kuen, former Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs in the HKSAR Government, shared her experiences of voluntary work and highly commended the alumni work of the University.

The event also marked the Inauguration Ceremony for 2011 Class Liaison Ambassadors in which the ambassadors pledged to serve the University. Two senior Alumni Ambassadors, Mr Andrew Fan and Ms Karmen Chan encouraged Alumni Ambassadors to continue to put their enthusiasm into action. Besides, in appreciation of the contribution of stories for “Alumni Ambassadors’ Stories Collection”, contributors were presented with a special souvenir by the ARO.

All participants took a memorable picture together around the heart-shaped backdrop which symbolises the caring spirit. Kathy hoped that the caring spirit of the Alumni Ambassadors would be like a dandelion: widespread to every corner at CityU and to the world and finally deep rooted in people’s hearts. Many participants stayed on to chat and mingle with other Alumni Ambassadors. Let’s check out the joyful moments.
