More than 50 people attended a CityU Eminence Society dinner forum featuring President of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society Mr Haywood Cheung, who spoke on the prospects for Qianhai, the boom town located on the outskirts of Shenzhen.

Mr Cheung, a graduate of the CityU EMBA programme and fellow Eminence member, shared his views about the town’s labour situation and economic environment, including development of the property market, stressing the importance of cooperation between Qianhai and Hong Kong. He also discussed recent developments in Shanghai and its potential impact on Hong Kong.

The dinner, held at the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Members Club on 11 October, included a lively Q&A session, in which Haywood encouraged local entrepreneurs to consider Qianhai as an opportunity to expand business and bring benefits to Hong Kong.
