Convocation Vice-Chairman Mr Robert Lui was delighted to join the 30th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony on behalf of the Convocation, the first university-wide celebration activity on January 22, to witness our University turned 30!

To commemorate this significant moment, Robert was invited to join other officiating guests, including Sir Gordon, Chairman of Hopewell Holdings Limited and former Council Chairman of CityU; Dr Norman Leung, Executive Chairman of Television Broadcasts Ltd (TVB) and Pro-Chancellor of CityU; Mr Herman Hu, Council Chairman of CityU; Professor Kuo Way, University President; representatives of Students’ Union (SU) and the City University Postgraduate Association (CUPA) in presiding at the kick-off and cake-cutting ceremony to unveil a year-long celebration programmes spanning through 2014.

One of the highlights in the kick-off celebration centered on a procession on stage comprising 10 teams that are indispensable part of the University, including our fellow-alumni, long-serving staff, SU, CUPA, Student Ambassadors, CityU Delegation Marathon runners, Choir, Dancing Society, Philharmonic Orchestra and Chinese Orchestra. The ceremony also provided an occasion for all parties to come together and celebrate this historical moment of CityU.

The 30th anniversary celebration will feature a diverse programme of events from now on.  The Convocation encourages the alumni community to join the celebration and continues to support the growth of the University.
