More than 110 members and guests attended the CityU Eminence Society annual dinner held at the Hong Kong Jockey Club on 25 February. Among the participants were the Society’s Honorary Patrons Dr Norman Leung and Mr Herman Hu; Honorary Advisors Professor Roderick Wong and Ms Kathy Chan; and Honorary Members Dr John Chan, Professor Cheng Yiu-chung, Dr Raymond Ho, Mrs Stella Lau and Sir Gordon Wu. Council members and senior staff of the University also joined the event to meet senior alumni.
CityU Pro-Chancellor Dr Norman Leung and Council Chairman Mr Herman Hu gave audience updates on the latest developments at CityU, including establishment of the School of Veterinary Medicine, international rankings of the University and colleges, and upcoming celebratory activities for CityU’s 30th anniversary.
Highlights of the evening included a singing performance by Mr Herman Hu and a twist dance competition. Dr Leung and the Society’s Executive Committee Member Ms Agnes Wu were conferred the titles of Dancing King and Queen.
