Convocation is devoted to strengthening CityU’s non-local alumni network.

The Convocation supported an alumni gathering in Shenzhen organised by the Alumni Relations Office on 21 February. Convocation Vice-Chairman Mr William Khoo met some 100 alumni residing mainly in Shenzhen and its neighboring cities, and also friends and CityU representatives at a networking cocktail at the CityU Shenzhen Research Institute – a permanent base of CityU for applied research, incubation and professional education in the mainland. With Convocation serving as Event Partner, William was invited to deliver a speech and he gaily shared his aspirations of uniting alumni’s support for their alma mater.

Highlights of the evening included a campus tour to several state-of-the-art key research centers, laboratories and facilities. Participants were impressed by the research capabilities of CityU in the mainland, and delighted to have the opportunity to get together in this auspicious spring season.
