Nearly 80 participants including ethnic youths from secondary schools, alumni and student volunteers joined the “City-Youth Empowerment Project – Career Workshop for Ethnic Minority Youth”, a social service programme organised by the Department of Applied Social Studies on campus on 2 March.

The Convocation continued to serve as “Supporting Unit” of the workshop for the 2nd year and it successfully recruited dedicated alumni volunteers to serve as mentors. Convocation Vice-Chairmen Mr Cedric Cheng, Mr William Khoo and Mr Joseph Tsoi, and Standing Committee members Mr Gabriel Ho, Miss Flora Leung, Miss Vera Kong, Mr Billy Li and Miss Ywing Yeung joined the workshop and spent a meaningful Sunday with the ethnic youths who treasured the learning opportunity from alumni and student volunteers. The students enthusiastically took part in various hands-on training including group discussions and mock interviews, and SC members were impressed by their remarkable performance and positive learning attitude.

The CityU Convocation would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to alumni who participated in the workshop, in particular to those who supported for the second time!
